Interviewing

How can I improve my interviewing skills?
I get really nervous on formal interviews, and I know that my have nerves cost me a lot of good jobs. I’m not good with talking about myself and how I can be an asset to a company. Is there a way I can improve my interviewing techniques?
And also, would it be a bad idea to tell the interviewer that I’m bad at interviews but, if given the chance, I could prove my skills and knowledge to them?
Practice with a friend. relative or tape recorder. No, you do not need to tell the interviewer that you’re no good at interviews. See yourself as worthy of the time alloted and make the most of it.
Keep your eyes on the prize, you want the job, make them want to give it to you by offering your very best answers. .
Build that self-esteem to become more comfortable and confident in the interview setting. Say to yourself, I’m quite capable of making this happen for myself and then try to make it happen for yourself. Look at it like a gift you are giving yourself. I am going to ace this interview so that I can have this job to do the things that I need to do with the $$.
For example, say the job is to pay rent or tuition, then its not about the interview, its about meeting your goals. Keep those goals in mind from the start of the interview until the end of the interview.
Also, you might want to read a book by Robert Half, founder of Accounttemps. I read it when I was trying to ace interviews. It worked wonders!
Look at the interview as a very important conversation; one in which you participate fully. Expect to win a prize, the prize is the job offer.
All the best,
Get Busy!
