Kodak ESP 7 printer by Jure
Right now, Kodak’s ESP All-in-One series looks like a linear Darwinian family tree – each new model possesses the same basic features as its predecessor and adds a noticeable new trait that can aid its own commercial appeal. The ESP 5 is basically the ESP 3 with an LCD screen, and now the ESP 7 adds Wi-Fi and Ethernet network connectivity to the ESP 5 feature set. The ESP 7 scans, copies, and prints at 32 ppm in black and white and 30 in color, which hopefully represents enough of a speed increase to satisfy critics who felt that the previous two ESPs took too long to print their output. Besides all that, the ESP 7 rolls out a 4″x6″ photo in a reported 28 seconds, which sounds about par for the course when it comes to photo printers. You can print PC-free via PictBridge and memory card, and you get two separate paper trays, one for plain paper and larger format photo paper, and a second tray for 4″x6″ photo paper. This represents an upgrade from the ESP 3 and ESP 5, each of which offer only one tray.
