4 levels of protein structure?
I know the definition for the following 4 levels of protein structure but can anyone explain the 4 levels to me….. in elementary (bio 101) terms
primary structure
secondary structure
tertiary structure
quaternary structure
Primary–the order of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds
Secondary–the formation of alpha-helices or beta-sheets
Tertiary–the three dimensional folded shape of the protein
Quaternary–only seen in proteins with 2 or more polypeptide chains. Describes how the polypeptides interact with each other.
